About The Mouth of the Tyne Festival

The Mouth of the Tyne Festival is a four day cultural celebration of live music, dance and arts, and takes place each July in Tynemouth and Whitley Bay. The event is in its fourteenth year and attracts around 100,000 people.

It features a packed programme of live music, activities for children, a colourful pageant featuring local schoolchildren and world-class, international street entertainment.

Street theatre is programmed on the Saturday and Sunday at locations in Tynemouth Front Street and Tynemouth Station, with Coasters acts performing at selected times between 12noon and 6pm.

The street theatre element of the festival is programmed by Event International, a regionally based company with many years experience in the sector, and collaborators with the festival over its 14 year history. This has ensured a consistently high quality to the programme, significant diversity and a mix of national and international performers.
